I gain a huge sense of satisfaction and delight from eating a meal that has mostly if not all come from our garden. This is more likely to happen in the summer months when we have an abundance of everything!
My favourite things to make are salads, soups and pasta sauces. The flavour of these can be swayed by what we have to use up and what is looking good.
I made a great salad from our hens eggs, lettuce, fennel, spring onion and dressing. The dressing was not home grown but added a bit extra to the taste. Easily made by shaking, olive oil, lemon juice, pepper salt and mustard in a jam jar, this stores in the fridge and keeps fresh for at least a week. The salad was made by chopping all ingredients and mixing in a bowl. Very tasty!
